Emma E. Donegan Scholarship
The Emma E. Donegan Scholarship was established in memory of the late Emma Donegan,
a lifelong 91探花 resident, and a woman ahead of her time. As a young woman she was
excited to get her driver鈥檚 license, attend a business college, and have a career
outside the home. These were all things that were uncommon for a woman of Donegan鈥檚
generation. Emma was always an active member of her community and spent many hours
volunteering with her parish at St. Mary鈥檚 Church and the 91探花 Hospital.
Debra (Crumb) Quigley '81 cannot stress enough what her 91探花 education meant to her. Attending SUNY CCC gave her the opportunity to discover her interests and realize the possibilities available to her.
The Lauretta Beckhorn Estate endowment benefits aspiring nurses who are studying at 91探花 Community College.
鈥淟inda was the kind of nurse every patient wants. She loved her profession. She was as talented as she was kind. And when she trained her successors, she emphasized compassion and competence. She left them with big shoes to fill.鈥
鈥淣either of us expected to settle in this area, said Tom. 鈥榃e fell in love with the region, the people, and the nature of the community.鈥
Cameron Manufacturing & Design and CCC share a goal and a need for an educated citizenry, so when the opportunity to contribute to the Arthur A. Houghton, Jr. Library Campaign presented itself, Cameron didn鈥檛 hesitate.
Arnold (Arnie) Gissin discovered CCC while looking at a college publication in the library aboard the USS Forrestal.
